Rotoworld is so full of shit sometimes. such a fantasy football agendaKeiland Williams

Keiland Williams: " Keiland Williams-RB- Redskins Nov. 19 - 2:27 pm et

The Washington Post suggests that Keiland Williams is no lock to be the Redskins' featured tailback in Week 11.
Writes the Post's Rick Maese, 'If (Clinton) Portis handles the bulk of the workload Sunday, Williams could return to his role as the team's third-down back.' We do tentatively expect Williams to handle most of the carries and catches for Washington, but it's another reminder that Mike Shanahan backfields are far from reliable sources of fantasy value. A tough matchup with Tennessee makes the situation that much sketchier.

Clinton Portis will play Sunday against Titans; Ryan Torain out

By Rick Maese

Running back Clinton Portis will return to the backfield for the Redskins Sunday at Tennessee after missing five games because of a groin injury.

Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said following practice Friday that Portis is healthy enough to play, but running back Ryan Torain will be ruled out for Sunday's game against the Titans.

Portis suffered the groin injury in the Oct. 3 game at Philadelphia. He was able to practice this week, and Shanahan said he looked good enough to play this weekend.

"If we didn't feel good about him, we wouldn't play him," Shanahan said. "He looked like he'd be good to go."

Portis initially was coy about his status, saying, "It's a game-time decision." But he then conceded, "It's exciting to be back. I felt good, so to have this opportunity to be back out there. ... I had an opportunity to go out and test it, and I did."

Portis has 195 yards on 49 carries this season, an average of four yards per carry. He has two rushing touchdowns in four games this year.

Shanahan wouldn't discuss Portis's exact role Sunday against the Titans.

"I'm not going to go into detail about workload we'll give him, but he's going to play in the game," Shanahan said.

Torain started four games in Portis's place and had 391 yards and three touchdowns on 91 carries. He injured his hamstring, though, in the Oct. 31 loss at Detroit. Torain was limited in practice last week, but Shanahan thought he'd be healthy enough to play against the Eagles. Torain tweaked his hamstring in pregame warm-ups and spent the
entire night on the sidelines.

Torain was not able to practice this week and Shanahan said he wasn't certain whether he'd be able to return for the team's Nov. 28 game against Minnesota.

Rookie Keiland Williams started in the backfield last week. If Portis handles the bulk of the workload Sunday, Williams could return to his role as the team's third-down back.
