Receiver Mike Williams did not practice today, watching from the sidelines. But Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Williams did some running around today, and will do even more on Thursday with the hope that he can play on Sunday.
“I threw to him just to see him move, and he’s made some progress,” Carroll said. “So we’ll see what happens with each day. He’ll run around considerably more, and we’ll see where he is. It was encouraging today though, the he might have a chance to move into some playing opportunity.”
Williams did not wear a protective boot at practice today, however. Along with Williams, offensive lineman Chester Pitts (ankle, defensive tackle Colin Cole (ankle), defensive end Chris Clemons (ankle), cornerback Marcus Trufant (leg) and linebacker Lofa Tatupu (knee).
We did see Cole go through some agility drills on the side during practice today with a trainer, so he appears to be making progress coming back from a high ankle sprain. Caroll said they will continue to let Cole do more throughout the week, with the hope that he could be available on Sunday.
“He’d be an important addition to us,” Carroll said. “He was really there when we were playing our best. And we’d love to get him back into the mix and the rotations.”
